Willaston & Rope Councillor Allen Gage gets to grips with road side weeds & debris.
Allen spent some spare time this week removing weeds, spading back the footpath (otherwise known as ‘siding out’) and clearing up unsightly debris around the island on Cheerbrook Road, Willaston.
Allen explained; “I had asked the Council to do this but perhaps they have run out of soil redistribution implements!”
After several hours of hard graft, Allen had accumulated seven wheelbarrows worth of debris stating; “it's always more that you think and I found what looks like an old brake pad from a lorry buried at the island. I hope it weighed less than 7.5 tonnes”. The reclamation of the full width of a section of cycle path was an additional bonus!
