Marking the publication of 2015-18 adoption scorecards, the department has recognised the strong performance on adoption ‘timeliness’ in Cheshire East.
The adoption scorecard for Cheshire East Council illustrated their strong performance in ensuring the timeliness of placing children with adoptive families and matching an adoptive family with children, meeting the Department of Education thresholds in the period 2015-18 and prompting a request to ‘share best practice’.
The hard work of council staff and their partners in ‘Adoption Counts’, our regional adoption agency, is being recognised for helping find loving homes for children and young people when they need it most.
Cllr Jos Saunders said “This is wonderful news! We have worked hard to ensure that cared for children and young people have the opportunity to live in good, safe homes locally, either with their family or in another permanent home, as soon as possible.
“The approach used by the team is effective in preventing unnecessary delays and improving outcomes for our vulnerable children and young people. This continues to be a high priority for Cheshire East.”
