Crewe & Nantwich Conservatives launch Support for Leighton Hospital A&E Petition
Our team were out this morning with Dr Kieran Mullan (C&N Prospective Parliamentary Candidate), collecting signatures for the Leighton Hospital Petition. CE Councillors Margaret Simon, Steve Edgar and CEC Leader Rachel Bailey were also out wth the team in Nantwich.
So what is this petition all about?
This year the Government announced it was making an extra £145 million capital funding available to hospitals to help them through the busy winter period.
The NHS quango “NHS Improvement” (NHSi) was in charge of managing how the money was spent. Leighton Hospital managers made a request for funding for the A&E that was denied.
Our busy local A&E department deserves its fair share of the extra funding that was made available. Sign Kieran’s petition to ask NHS Improvement to review this decision and agree to make additional capital funding available to Leighton Hospital managers to help it look after patients this winter.
