Raising awareness of Domestic Violence on ‘White Ribbon Day’
Cheshire East Council was privileged to host the #whiteribbon event today talking about how domestic abuse is everyone’s business. Thanks were extended to domestic violence survivor group @CWAcharity (Cheshire Without Abuse) for their courage in sharing their stories and thanks to Oaks Academy @The_OaksAcademy for a brilliant drama piece on everyday sexism.
Cllr Jos Saunders (Cabinet Member: Children & Young People) and Cllr Liz Durham (Deputy Leader & Cabinet Member: Health & Communities) attended the event at Holmes Chapel Community Centre which was hosted by CEC for service users, community and professionals. The focus was about working with the complexity of domestic violence, transforming services, making the workplace safe, and the next phase of the ‘Open the Door’ campaign
