The Crewe Municipal Square was full this morning
as local people of all ages came to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the cessation of hostilities in the First World War and to remember the Fallen in all Conflicts.
The service was especially meaningful as representatives of the French town of Macon that has been partnered with Crewe for 60 years attended and spoke movingly of the importance of such events now and into the future.
Cllr Janet Clowes laid the wreath on behalf of the Cheshire East Mayor, Mrs Kath O’Dwyer (Acting Chief Executive of CEC) laid the wreath on behalf of Cheshire East Council Staff, Cllr Jacquie Weatherill also laid a wreath as did Dr Kieran Mullan (on behalf of Crewe & Nantwich Conservative Party).
