Tatton hosts the first CEC Pride in the Park Picnic!
Set against the glorious backdrop of Tatton Park, CEC held its first ‘Pride Picnic’ today.
Visitors were able to take advantage of free admittance to the Park and Gardens to see a wide range of activities and music bringing communities together to support diversity and to celebrate all aspects of the LGBT community.
The event was open to all and was attended by Cllr Rachel Bailey (CEC Leader), Mrs Kath O’Dwyer (Acting CEx), Cllr Lesley Smetham (CEC Mayor) and Cllrs Ainley Arnold, Paul Bates and Janet Clowes.
Cllr Stewart Gardiner (Councillor for the Knutsford Ward) in his role as CE Diversity Champion, was part of the wider CEC team who worked immensely hard to bring the event together. Despite a couple of showers, the sun did appear and over the course of the day, visitors were treated to Special guests Brazilian carnival drum and dance act Juba do Leão, jazz saxophonist Alex Clarke, an Abba tribute set from ‘The Twins’ and performances from Proud Mary’s Choir and Rock Choir Cheshire who all featured on the programme.
