Hough Village Commemorates it’s Six ‘Fallen’ at its 1st WW Centenary Event today.
Hough Parish Council, the Village Hall Committee and numerous volunteers organised today’s family event. The day started with a short service of remembrance for the six local men who fell in the 1st WW with wreathes laid by the Mayor of CEC, Cllr Lesley Smetham, the Parish Council and Mr John Dwyer on behalf of the Royal British Legion. The Event was also attended by Cllr Janet Clowes (the local Ward Councillor).
Many thanks to all those who contributed to today’s WW1 Centenary Event - The weather was kind and there was a continuous stream of people joining us over the course of the day. The Dedication Service with the laying of wreathes was particularly poignant, the music bands and singers were excellent (and the cakes, courtesy of the local W.I. were delicious!)
