The annual Wybunbury Fig Pie Wakes took place on Saturday – a unique event organised by the Wybunbury Tower Preservation Trust to help maintain this iconic local landmark.
This year the honour of rolling the first fig pie was offered to Wybunbury Ward Councillor Janet Clowes who said, “I was thrilled to be asked to open the event which is probably the most important community event of the year!
The weather was perfect and over a thousand people joined us for the day including a hundred ‘pie rollers’. The winning pie (not mine) rolled an impressive 106m!
