Cllr Rhoda Bailey’s long service as councillor for Odd Rode was recognised today by Fiona Bruce MP.
Cllr Rhoda Bailey has served Odd Rode Ward since the inception of Cheshire East Council and has made the decision to retire from public service in May.
At a Sunday Lunch event today in Church Lawton, Cllr Rhoda Bailey received thanks and best wishes from her Odd Rode Ward Colleague Cllr Liz Wardlaw, CEC Leader Cllr Rachel Bailey and was presented with a celebration vintage, signed by the Prime Minister, by Fiona Bruce MP.
Cllr Rhoda Bailey has served not only as an exemplary ward councillor but during her terms of office also held the role of Deputy Cabinet Member fro Children & Families, is a member of the Southern Planning Committee, and is currently the Chair of the Children and Families Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
Rhoda has also offered her wealth of experience in her roles as a member of both Corporate Scrutiny and the Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committees, Pubic Rights of Way, Licensing and the CE Countryside Access Forum. She has always demonstrated a capacity for immense hard work, reliability and commitment. Whilst her colleagues at CEC will miss her knowledge and practical support, all present were unanimous in wishing Rhoda and her husband Philip a long and happy retirement!
