Council Community Support Officers (CCSOs) appointed to support Poynton Residents!
Poynton’s Conservative Councillors try to invest Town Council precept monies wisely in services that directly benefit local people, such as the Council Community Support Officers.
We think it's a really important service for the residents of Poynton. The CCSO's, amongst other things carry out the following on a regular basis:
· Carrying out reassuring, high visual patrols in the area
· Providing an ‘eyes and ears’ service to reduce the fear of crime
· Dealing with environmental crime issues, like litter, fly tipping and dog fouling.
· Reducing low level crime and anti-social behaviour, making referrals where necessary.
· Attending local schools and giving advice
· Encouraging diversionary activities for young people.
· Supporting older members of the community and preventing social isolation.
· Advice on crime prevention in the home.
· Partnerships with other agencies to help make Poynton a safe place to live, work and visit.
