Operation Shield
Tytherington Councillor Ainsley Arnold called at the properties of local residents together with police officers to deliver the Operation Shield Smart Water kits.
Operation Shield ”involves providing households at risk with a kit containing smart liquid with which occupants mark their valuables. As the liquid driest it is invisible to the naked eye and contains a unique code that is registered to that address. Should the household be unfortunate enough to be a victim of burglary, then any recovered property can easily be identified and returned and the police can secure strong evidence to prosecute the offender."
Cllr Arnold stated “the Smart Water kits were funded by Macclesfield Town Council and I ensured that the Tytherington Ward was included for the distribution of these vital crime prevention kits.“
