Minister gets to see ‘brilliant’ work taking place at RSPCA centre
Environment Secretary Michael Gove MP paid a visit to RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre during their 25th Anniversary year to see the work they do looking after animals from across the region.
Mr Gove was brought to the centre by local Conservative MP candidate Dr. Kieran Mullan and as well as a tour of the centre also got the chance to meet the staff and a number of young people taking part in the innovative education provision taking place there.
Speaking after the visit the Environment Secretary said: “I’d like to thank Kieran for inviting me to visit the impressive RSPCA wildlife centre in Nantwich.
“The centre is an example of the brilliant work the RSPCA do, with the support of the British public. I know Kieran is a passionate local campaigner on animal welfare and many other issues, and he will be supporting the centre as a volunteer. With a committed local campaigner like Kieran in Parliament, this Conservative Government will continue to ensure we remain a world leader in animal welfare.”
Dr. Kieran Mullan praised the unique opportunities the centre was offering young people to learn hands on practical skills as well as caring for animals. He said: “The young people told us how much they got out of this and I think it is great the centre will be expanding the activities over this coming year. I am looking forward to getting stuck in myself!”
