On the Centenial anniversary of the end of the First World War, Oxley’s of Crewe have gifted a marble poppy sculpture to Chesire East Council.
The poppy is one of a set replicating the considerably larger original that was set in the Crewe Municipal Square in 2014 (100 years since the start of hostilities in 1914).
Cllr Janet Clowes accepted the sculpture on behalf of Cheshire East. A suitable location for this poignant reminder of the fallen will be decided in due course.
