Crewe Royal British Legion put the PCC Grant to good use.
CEC Deputy Leader, Cllr Liz Wardlaw and Cllr Janet Clowes joined the Crewe Branch of the Royal British Legion and Police and Crime Commissioner David Keane this morning, together with CEC communities staff and Volunteers.
They met at the BRU Cafe to celebrate and discuss how the RBL have utilised a grant of £1,500 from the Police & Crime Commissioner. Since receiving the grant, RBL members and CEC Communities staff have supported veterans to access work, access accommodation, provide ‘Breakfast Cafes’ as a neutral venue where veterans and their families can meet and socialise with others who understand their experience. In addition theyhave supported veterans new to the area, to access services in accordance with the Armed Forces Covenant.
