Cheshire East is bucking national trends and is actively investing in its sport and leisure services.
The Crewe Lifestyle Centre has won national awards for its design and range of provision and in March, planning permission was granted for the refurbishment of Congleton Leisure Centre. New provision has been developed at Holmes Chapel with further investment planned for Macclesfield.
This week national figures on physical activity were released from Sport England. The Active Lives Survey provides a focused picture on national and local levels of physical activity and includes everything from walking, cycling for travel, dancing, in addition to traditional sporting and fitness activities.
The 'Active Lives' Survey (October 2018) identified Cheshire East as the most active local authority in the North-West (out of 39 Local Authorities).
