Cheshire East Councillors and Candidates arrived in Chester today to support ProspectiveParliamentary Candidate, Liz Wardlaw in the By-Election Campaign!
They joined Cheshire West & Chester Councillors, Party Members, visitors from Wales and beyond.
We must thank Chester residents who were welcoming and willing to listen and engage as this by-election moves to a close!
It’s worth remembering that due to Royal Mail planned industrial action, voters will have to ensure that if they use a postal vote, they need to get their votes in the mail box by Monday at the latest! (Otherwise here are the alternative options for making votes count!)
Postal votes
Royal Mail has advised of the following dates for industrial action by its staff:
- Thursday, 24 November
- Friday, 25 November
- Wednesday, 30 November
- Thursday, 1 December
It is likely that no mail, including returned postal votes, will be delivered on these dates. Therefore we are encouraging all postal voters to return their completed voting pack as soon as possible.
If you are unable to post your vote before Monday 28 November, Royal Mail has recommended that you post your completed postal voting pack at post boxes located outside post offices within the City of Chester constituency.
If you are concerned that your postal vote may not reach us in time for polling day on Thursday 1 December for whatever reason, there are a number of alternatives:
Use a local library
You can drop off your completed postal voting pack at a local library, within their opening hours, until Wednesday 30 November. The libraries providing this service are:
- Blacon Library, Parade Enterprise Centre, 14 The Parade, Chester, CH1 5HN
- Great Boughton Library, Green Lane, Vicars Cross, Chester, CH3 5LB
- Lache Library, Lache Park Avenue, Lache, Chester, CH4 8HR
- Upton Library, Wealstone Lane, Upton, Chester, CH2 1HB
Deliver to Chester HQ
You can also drop off your completed postal voting pack at Chester HQ, 58 Nicholas Street, Chester, CH1 2NP until 5pm on Thursday 1 December.
