In the year that marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, Conservative Councillors across Cheshire East Borough, honoured those who lost their lives and served their country, at Remembrance Day events.
Congleton and Nantwich were just two of the Towns that saw organised parades this morning, led by Armed Forces Representatives, Veterans, the Scout and Guide Associations, Town and Borough elected representatives, led in turn by their respective Mayors.
Acts of Remembrance were replicated in other Towns and Villages and all were well attended by residents, young and old, as all took time to remember the fallen of past and current wars.
As Kemi Badenoch (Leader of the Conservative Party) stated;
“We remember all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their Country and all those who continue to risk their lives to protect every one of us.”
“We owe much to our Armed Forces and the families who support them. We thank them for their service and pay tribute to those who have fallen.”
“We will remember them”
