The Housing Secretary James Brokenshire has confirmed a multi-billion pound boost to social housing to build:
✅ Around 23,000 new affordable homes.

✅ 12,500 will be social rent homes in high cost areas, supporting families struggling to pay their rent. ?️
The Housing Secretary also announced a new generation of council housing, inviting local authorities to bid for a share of £1 billion extra borrowing to build much-needed homes. This will be targeted in areas with the highest affordability pressures to ensure homes are built where they are needed most.
