This July, join millions of people reducing their plastic waste! Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. Will you be part of Plastic Free July by choosing to refuse single-use plastics?

Many Towns and Businesses across Cheshire East are already taking positive action to raise awareness of the problems and to offer really sensible ideas that make a positive contribution to reducing our use of plastic.
Earlier this year ANSA, the wholly owned company of Cheshire East Council that deals with waste management, launched its own ‘Community Toolkit’. This guide helps residents to set up a #lifewithlessplastic community group to protect the environment in your area - but it works just as well at your local school, your family or your workplace!.

In addition, Conservative Cheshire East Council took the decision in early 2018 to stop the use of single use plastics in all its Council Buildings - water beakers, straws, single use plastic aprons, plates and the replacement of bottled water at meetings to jugs and glasses. It has proven to be environment-friendly AND cost-efficient!
