2018 UN Older People's Day celebrated at an afternoon Tea Party at the Crewe Alexandra FC
The International Day of Older Persons is observed on October 1 each year. On December 14, 1990 the United Nations General Assembly voted to establish October 1 as the International Day of Older Persons as recorded in Resolution 45/106 and the day was observed for the first time on October 1, 1991.
On Tuesday, the well-supported tea dance event, organised to celebrate Older People’s Day 2018 took place at the Crewe Alexandra Stadium in Crewe and was attended by the CE Mayor, Cllr Lesley Smetham and Cllr Olivia Hunter.
